What Is Draft Guru? An AI GM for Your Fantasy Team

Draft Guru Team·· 3 min read

Draft Guru is an AI fantasy sports assistant for the league you already play in. Connect your ESPN, Yahoo, Sleeper or Fantrax team and ask Guru about lineups, waivers, trades and drafts. It answers with your roster and your scoring in view. Your league stays right where it is. Think of it as a GM for the team you already have.

Why it exists

Generic advice tells every manager in your league the same thing. It doesn't know you're thin at running back, or that your league pays six for a passing touchdown. Draft Guru starts from your team. Bring your roster. Ask a better question.

How it works

  1. Sign up free. No card.
  2. Connect your team from ESPN, Yahoo, Sleeper or Fantrax. Your leaguemates don't have to sign up.
  3. Ask Guru, then make the move on your platform.

What you can ask

  • Who do I start?
  • Who should I pick up, and who do I drop?
  • Should I take this trade?
  • Who do I take with my next pick?

Every answer ends with a Guru Pick, the bottom line. Tag a player with @ so Guru knows exactly who you mean.

Draft day

Agent GM puts a draft board right next to your draft room. Connect a supported draft or type the picks in; both are free. Paid plans can also share the draft screen from a desktop browser. Want a warm-up? Practice the draft against AI opponents, free and unlimited. Then make your own call.

Sports

Connect ESPN or Yahoo for NFL, NBA, WNBA, NHL and MLB; Sleeper for NFL and NBA; Fantrax for NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB. Guru also takes general questions, College Football included. It works on your phone too; a private ESPN league needs the Chrome extension on a computer the first time.

What it won't do

It won't make moves in your ESPN, Yahoo, Sleeper or Fantrax league. That's your call. It won't promise you a title, because AI can be wrong. And it won't bury your lineup under ads, because there aren't any.

Hosting your league here? Emergency subs

Create a league on Draft Guru and Guru can sub in your backup when a starter is ruled out before their game starts. You get a heads-up, and you can undo it until either player's game starts.

The small print: hosted leagues only, in the NFL, NBA, WNBA, NHL and MLB, once the season is under way, where lineups lock at each player's game time. Ruled out means Out, IR, suspended or game-day inactive, not Doubtful or Questionable. If no healthy bench player fits, nothing changes and you're told. Checks run every 15 minutes, so a very late scratch can slip through. Free on every plan.

What it costs

Free gets you 20 Guru messages a month, 1 connected league (kept until its season ends), Agent GM and unlimited practice drafts. Removing the league early doesn’t free the spot. Separately, your ChatGPT or Claude connection reads one league you choose on Free, locked until that league’s season ends. Pro is $59.99 a year and Elite is $119.99 a year, with more messages, more leagues, Guru Score and screen-share drafts. While founding spots last, the first 1,000 members lock in Pro at $39.99 or Elite at $95.99 a year while subscribed. Details are on the pricing page.
