Draft Guru ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by Draft Guru AI. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the Draft Guru platform at draftguruai.com and our associated mobile applications (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
If you have questions or concerns about this policy, please contact us at info@draftguruai.com.
We collect the following types of information when you use Draft Guru:
- • Email address (used for authentication and account communications)
- • Display name (shown within leagues and drafts)
- • Date of birth you provide during signup, used to check our 18-and-over requirement
- • Time zone, preferences and optional onboarding answers used to tailor the app
- • Payment details are processed securely by Stripe
- • We never store your credit card numbers, CVV, or full card details on our servers
- • We retain billing identifiers, subscription and payment status, plan details and transaction records needed to manage payments, refunds and account access
- • Usage analytics (pages visited, features used, draft activity)
- • Questions and responses in signed-in AI conversations, including on the free plan. Saved history can be viewed after upgrading to a plan with chat history.
- • League settings, rosters, team and manager display names, draft activity and other league data you create or import
- • Draft-board images you choose to share for Assistant GM screen analysis, sent to the AI service handling that analysis
- • Device tokens for push notifications (if you opt in)
- • Browser type, device type, and general location data (country/region level)
If you choose to send the subscriber feedback survey, we store your written answers, account identifier, survey version and submission time. Matt and authorized app administrators review these answers to improve Draft Guru. The survey does not send answers to an AI provider. Draft answers stay in page memory until you send or leave. Please leave out passwords, login codes, payment details and other private information. Stored responses are linked to your account and follow the account-deletion and retention rules in this policy.

We use the following third-party services to operate Draft Guru:
- • Supabase: Database hosting and user authentication
- • Stripe: Payment processing and subscription management
- • Google / Firebase: Push notification delivery, and AI answers via Gemini, including in Guru AI chat
- • OpenAI: AI answers in Guru AI chat, and the automated safety check of pictures you upload before anyone else can see them
- • ESPN: Sports data including player statistics, schedules, and scores
- • Vercel: Web application hosting and deployment
- • Resend: Delivery of account, support and other service emails
- • Cloudflare Turnstile: Abuse-prevention checks on supported authentication forms
Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data. We encourage you to review their respective policies.
- • Checked first: Before anyone else can see a picture you upload, such as a team photo, it is checked by an automated safety service run by OpenAI. A picture that does not pass is deleted and never shown. We keep a short record of each check's result, but no copy of a picture that did not pass.
- • Not used for training: Pictures sent for this check are not used to train OpenAI's models.
- • Removed pictures: If we remove a picture because it breaks our rules, we delete it, except where the law requires us to keep a copy. Any such copy is kept private and stored securely for at least as long as the law requires, then deleted.
Draft Guru does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Your data is used solely to provide and improve the Service.
We use cookies, local storage and session storage for sign-in, saved preferences, tutorial progress, recent chat drafts, cached app data, pending join or referral actions, and first-party usage and reliability records. Some records remain on your device; pending service records may be sent to Draft Guru when a connection is available. Clearing site data can sign you out or reset these preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or advertising tracking pixels. Promotions for Draft Guru plans are our own.
Version 1.1.0 of the Draft Guru Assistant GM Connector (Chrome Web Store availability pending) brings your draft chat and board into Chrome's sidebar and includes the ESPN Connector. This section applies only if you choose to install it.
- • What it reads: The ESPN connection window checks two ESPN session cookies (espn_s2 and SWID). The sidebar runs Draft Guru inside the extension, signed in with your normal Draft Guru login, and reads your draft picks, roster and chat from it. “Connect a draft” can read the active tab's URL to identify a supported draft; it does not collect your browsing history.
- • When it reads them: The ESPN connection window checks the cookies when opened and transfers them only after you click "Connect to Draft Guru". Website scripts cannot request cookies from its background worker. Sidebar chat runs in the extension's own Draft Guru page and the extension never receives your Draft Guru login tokens or provider credentials.
- • Draft screen sharing: If you turn on “Share my draft screen”, Chrome asks which tab to share. Nothing is sent until you tap “Scan board”; each tap sends one still of that tab through Draft Guru to the AI board reader. Screenshots are not saved by Draft Guru or the extension; detected picks become part of your board. Stop sharing at any time from Chrome's sharing bar. A new draft's first scan uses one of your screen-share drafts.
- • Where it goes: The session values are delivered over HTTPS directly to draftguruai.com to fetch your leagues and rosters from ESPN's API on your behalf. They are used once unless you explicitly choose to save your ESPN connection. Saved sessions are encrypted with a key held outside the database, never returned to your browser, and used only to read fantasy league data. They are never sold. The extension stores your Draft Guru account ID and email locally in Chrome to identify the connected account. It does not store your password, login tokens, or provider credentials.
- • Your control: None of this happens unless you install the extension, and it only ever acts for Draft Guru. You can uninstall the extension at any time. If you saved a connection, remove it separately in Account → Connected Accounts to stop future refreshes; uninstalling the extension alone does not remove that saved connection.
- • Phone follow-along: While a connected Assistant GM draft is open, Draft Guru saves its teams, settings and published picks to your account so your other signed-in devices can follow it. These snapshots contain no provider credentials or chat. Updates stop when the desktop draft closes; saved snapshots remain private to your account and are removed when you delete your account.
When connecting Yahoo, you can keep the connection on your Draft Guru account for future visits and other devices. The connection screen explains this choice before you continue to Yahoo. Automatic daily refresh remains a separate choice for each league.
- • What we store: A Yahoo OAuth authorization (a "refresh token"). We request read-only access to Yahoo Fantasy data (fspt-r), so this authorization can never modify your Yahoo team, and it gives us no access to your Yahoo email or any other Yahoo service.
- • How it's protected: It is encrypted before it is stored, using a key held outside the database, and it is never sent back to your browser or shared with anyone.
- • What it's used for: To reconnect you to Yahoo Fantasy without repeated sign-ins, read leagues and draft data you request, and refresh leagues where you separately enabled automatic refresh. A short-lived access token may be returned to your signed-in Draft Guru session; the saved renewal token stays on the server.
- • Your control: Uncheck “Keep Yahoo connected” to use a connection for that visit only. You can disconnect at any time from Account → Connected Accounts, which deletes the stored authorization, and you can also revoke Draft Guru directly from your Yahoo account settings. Disconnecting does not affect leagues you've already imported.
- • ESPN is different: Saving an ESPN session requires a separate, explicit choice. Unlike Yahoo’s limited authorization, an ESPN session has broader account access; Draft Guru uses it only to read fantasy data. Saving enables future manual refreshes. Daily refreshes are separately off unless you enable them for a league. Disconnecting deletes the stored session from our active credential store and disables its automatic refreshes. Previously imported league data remains. An expired or denied session pauses refreshes until you reconnect.
If you choose to connect ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok or another supported AI client, you sign in with Draft Guru and approve access. The connection lets that client read league data available to your account for sports covered by your paid plan. It cannot change lineups, submit waiver claims, accept trades or modify your leagues.
- • Data shared: Depending on the requested tool, responses can include league settings, rosters, team and manager display names, standings, matchups, projections, player facts, stored news, your draft history, and trade or waiver information. The connected client can also request your Draft Guru account identifier, email address and whether that email has been verified.
- • Connection records: We store the client identity, authorization and token-verification records, connection and last-use dates, and tool-call metadata such as the tool name, result status, time and duration to operate and protect the connection.
- • Provider handling: Data returned to your chosen AI provider is processed under that provider’s terms, privacy policy and your account settings. Its retention and model-training rules may differ from those for AI features inside Draft Guru.
- • Your control: Disconnect from Account → Your AI Assistant to stop future lookups through that connection. Disconnecting does not delete information already returned to the provider; use that provider’s controls to manage its copies and conversations.
When you connect Fantrax, you provide a Fantrax Secret ID so Draft Guru can request your leagues and the selected league’s draft or roster data. The Secret ID is kept in the current form or connection’s memory and sent to our server for the requested Fantrax lookups; it is not saved as a reusable account connection. Imported league data remains in Draft Guru after the connection ends.
